Antonia Katrandjieva – director/choreographer

Antonia is an internationally acclaimed scholar, director and choreographer, who explores the parallel realms of dance, and theatre and their spiritual roots in the ritual and the sacred. Antonia holds a BA in Physical theatre Acting, MFA in Theatre directing, Ph.D. & D.Sc. in Theatre Studies from the National Academy of Theatre & Film Arts, and is a graduate of Zurich Tanz Theater Schule in Switzerland. Antonia has traveled, conducted anthropological research, and published papers on ritual dance & theatre traditions of Asia, South America, North Africa, Europe and the U.S. She has mounted over 40 cutting-edge works at dance and theatre festivals across the globe. Antonia has lectured in experimental dance and theater at the National Academy of Theater & Film Arts, American College in Sofia, International College of Arts in Denpasar, Bali, Zurich Dance Theater School in Switzerland, Harvard Dance School, and Carnegie Mellon University, U.S. She is NY correspondent for Bulgarian Theater Magazine and has authored the manual for contemporary actors & dancers “Intuitive Gesture”, “Contemporary Trends in Physical Theatre,” and numerous articles on Theater, Philosophy and Dance published in Bulgarian, Swiss and American Journals. Antonia’s NY performance credits include: New York Live Arts, La Mama Experimental Theater, Judson Memorial Church, Dance New Amsterdam, City Center, Salvatore Capezio Theater, New Dance Group, BRIC, White Wave John Ryan Theatre (Dumbo Dance Festival), Connecticut College, Intersections, Collegiate Church, & Manhattan Arts & Movement Center. Antonia is founder and Artistic Director of Overground Arts Alliance, Overground Physical Theatre Company & Yogea Artflow Center, where she conducts signature YA Certified Yoga Teacher Training Programs and develops an innovative yoga style. At present Antonia is launching an educational platform for eco-somatic awareness “Ecoproreality.” Most recently, Antonia is working on a new physical theater work “X-stream.”


Ana Ivanova – video artist, filmmaker

Ana is a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and Communications at Sofia University, with a Master’s degree in Communications. Since 1997 she works in the field of advertising, film production, multimedia and photography and serves as a creative consultant to various Bulgarian and international companies. Ana is co-founder of ArtVanguard, an independent film and video production company, based in New York. ArtVanguard actively collaborates with Overground Arts Allaince. Ana has created original video artwork, design and photography for numerous Overground productions amongst which Lactobacillicum Bulgaricum, Blueprint, Peripheral Visions, Shifters, Avatar, Urban Tao, Ecocentric. Ana is co-producer and editor of Yogea Artflow Yoga, an innovative yoga web series.


Kalin Ivanov – video artist, filmmaker

Kalin Ivanov holds a BA and MFA in Cinematography from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria and an MFA in Television Production from Brooklyn College CUNY. He has many film and television credits as a Director of Photography, cameraman, director, producer, photographer and editor (Irish writers in America; Theatre Talk; Canape; Nueva York; Even the Score; The Beaches; The Gates of Jeanne-Claude and Christo; The Girl, the Boy and the Frog; Houben Paints Money, etc.). Since 2000 Kalin is a senior videographer, producer and editor at CUNY TV, Channel 75 in New York. In 2012 Kalin has won two Emmy Awards for producing in the categories of Environmental Program and Best Magazine Program (Nueva York). His work was also distinguished with a Telly Award and four Communicator Awards for Canape, Theatre Talk and the documentaries Sloan at 75 and UFT. Kalin’s photographs have been selected for various exhibitions and private collections. Kalin actively collaborates with Overground Arts Alliance, a NY based not-for profit arts and culture promoting organization. Kalin has created original video artwork and photography for numerous Overground productions amongst which Lactobacillicum Bulgaricum, Blueprint, Peripheral Visions, Shifters, Avatar, Urban Tao, Ecocentric. Vessela Warner – professor, writer, dramaturg

Vessela S. Warner teaches theatre history and dramaturgy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research focuses on South Slavic drama, cultural identity, postcolonial studies, and theatre criticism. She has contributed to Theatre and Performance in Eastern Europe: The Changing Scene (Scarecrow Press, 2008), Performing Dreams into Being: Native American Women’s Theatre (Miami University Press, 2009), and International Women Stage Directors (University of Illinois Press, forthcoming in 2013). Her articles were published in TheatreForum, Slavic and East European Performance, New England Theatre Journal, Balkanistica, Serbian Studies, and others. Vessela has dramaturged for Alliance Theatre in Atlanta and Overground Physical Theatre Company, New York. Warner holds a Ph.D. in Theatre History and Dramatic Theory from the University of Washington, M.F.A. in Stage Directing from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, Bulgaria, and M.A. in Slavic Literature from Sofia University, Bulgaria.

Nannette Bevelander –  writer, composer, singer, Reiki practitioner

Nannette continues to explore and open to the non defining energies of Life which move and transform us in ways that are cathartic and uplifting, and always with the spirit of Beauty everpresent.

Born in Den Haag, Holland, she grew up in Canada and continues to grow up in New York, where the call of the theatre first brought her to the Broadway Stage, among others.  She has worked in many areas including opera, oratorio, comedy, drama, and also made the study of dance a part of her life.  Ultimately she embraced the energy-based dance and yoga of Antonia  Katrandjieva, with whom she collaborated on several theatrical projects and with whom she continues to  explore ontology and cosmology.

Emilio Garzon – composer, mix engineer, sound designer

Graduated in Music Production in Middlesex University, and is the recipient of the 1st award in Singer-Songwriter Competition, Spain. He has composed, performed and mixed music for Films and TV. He has produced several albums of different genres from Jazz to Electronic Music and has worked as a Sound Designer in Contemporary Art Installations for internationally renowned artists. Currently, Emilio collaborates with Overground Arts Alliance in X-Stream and the company’s upcoming interdisciplinary projects.
